In addition to the 18 compulsory credits, students must earn 12 optional credits by successfully completing courses offered in the school’s program and course calendar.
All students are required to meet the secondary school literacy graduation requirement in order to earn an Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD). The purpose of this requirement is to determine whether students have the skills in reading and writing they will need to succeed in school, at work, and in daily life. Successful completion of the literacy graduation requirement will be documented on the student’s Ontario Student Transcript.
Students are required to complete 40 hours of community involvement activities to earn an Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD). The community involvement requirement is intended to help students develop an awareness and understanding of civic responsibility and the role they can play in supporting and strengthening their communities. It also provides the opportunity for students to learn more about themselves, develop transferable skills, and explore potential career opportunities. Students enrolled in Gr 12 will need to complete 10 hours of community involvement.
